This is a very common topic to discuss in ECE centers. Probably the most common struggle for ECE staff is answering parents/family's concerns regarding why their child's teacher is no longer with them and who is going to fill the roll.
In this circumstance, the best response is to be honest and assure your families that although your center may experiencing some changes; their child is still in the best care possible. Families want to know that their child is your priority. If you don't have a new teacher lined up yet be honest with your families let them know the following:
1) Their child is in a safe/caring environment.
2) You will reach out to parents as soon as a replacement teacher is confirmed.
3) Make yourself available for questions/concerns. (You need to make yourself available to parents- after all, you are caring for their child).
4) You do not need to/should not share details regarding the previous teacher's decision to leave unless you have permission to do so. Sometimes less is more.
